Scrabble Lifer, Turned Words With Friendster

I love to play Scrabble as much as the next guy and when Words With Friends came out I was a bit skeptical. I figured the game would be a blatant rip off that’s as stale as the original version. While the game is pretty similar, the staleness seems to have vanished. I’m not sure if it’s because the new adaptation is on a mobile device, if I’m just old and crotchety or if it’s really better. It looks and FEELS different than the original. I especially appreciate the convenience of having the ability to play multiple games wherever I go, whenever I feel like it. Our society has moved from the traditional stay-at-home and spend “family time” household, to the “go go go, I have to get things done” household. Everyone is working more hours on the job now, than ever before. So, our society has moved away from structure and more towards flexibility. I appreciate the ability to play the game when I want to and not have to jack with the individual tiles, swivel board, etc. Being able to take 30 minutes during a lunch break to bust out a few words while eating a sandwich is a great stress reliever that helps me get through the day. What are some ways you enjoy Words With Friends? Tell us what you think! Leave a comment.

I would like to be able to play this on my desktop so I can play with my family and friends. I can’t afford an I-Phone.
